I believe in a thorough Setup

The Setup

The setup is a key component to a great sounding and playing instrument. A good routine of setup care and seasonal adjustments is crucial to making even the best guitars perform. Regular setups will keep your guitar sounding and playing to its potential. Whether new, well played, or a guitar that has been slightly neglected, I can help you assess your instrument, listen to your needs and formulate a routine care plan to help make your guitar the best it can be.

A Setup Will:

  • Adjust your string height or action, Fine tuning the distance between the frets and the bottom of the string at various points along the fingerboard makes your guitar easier to play.

  • Adjust your guitar’s truss rod. Controlling the neck helps make the guitar more comfortable to play and helps notes fret properly and be more in tune.

  • Compensate for string length and size making sure the entire string is as in tune as possible along the fingerboard.

  • Adjust the pickup height and check onboard electronics.

  • Inspect all of the hardware on the guitar to assure everything is functioning properly.
